Your vehicle relies on a number of fluids to function properly. When you find fluid beneath your vehicle, start by making sure the fluid actually came from your car and not the one parked before it. Leave your vehicle parked, and place white cardboard beneath your car so that you can figure out what color the fluid is.

Transmission fluid leaks will be red or pink, while oil is the brown color you expect if you have an oil leak. Coolant is generally a bluish color, while brake fluid is clear. Cars can leak water, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, gear oil or power steering fluid.

If it is humid and you have been using your air conditioner, your vehicle might just be dripping water from the condensation caused by running your AC. Pay attention to the color of the fluid and try to identify where the leak is coming from.
